Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and treat adult patients using evidence-based speech-language pathology practices
- Perform dysphagia evaluations and lead Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies with clinical confidence
- Conduct cognitive and PMV evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in the Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the rehab team to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families to support safe swallowing and communication carryover
- Manage a clinical caseload (typically 8–12 patients depending on evaluations/treatments)
- Be flexible and step into acute care or inpatient rehab areas as the unit needs dictate
Qualifications
- Current SLP license (required)
- ASHA recommended (strongly preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in acute care or inpatient rehab working with adult populations
- Competency in Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR or similar clinical documentation systems
- Flexible, collaborative team player with strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
- Willingness to work rotating weekends (no on-call expectations)

- PMV (tracheostomy/ventilator-related) evaluation and management
- Acute care and inpatient rehab clinical workflows
- Meditech EMR documentation proficiency
- Caseload and time management with 8–12 patients typical
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient/family education skills
