Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating schedule that includes weekends (night/rotating)

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to MICU/MSICU patients, ensuring safety and comfort
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support with precision and clinical judgment
- Perform and assist with invasive procedures such as central line placement, catheter placements, thoracentesis and bedside dialysis
- Lead cardiac monitoring and respond to arrhythmias, cardioversions and acute changes in patient status
- Safely perform intubations and participate in airway management as needed
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to maintain continuity and compliance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and adjust individualized care plans
- Mentor and support colleagues while floating as needed to meet unit staffing requirements
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (active RN TX license required; temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of recent MICU/MSICU experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- CCRN preferred and highly valued
- Proven ability to perform ICU procedures including central lines, intubations, cardioversions and bedside dialysis
- Comfortable using Meditech documentation and familiar with ICU equipment (ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE cardiac output monitors)
Education
- Active RN licensure (required)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care nursing knowledge and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity environments
- Expertise in ventilator management and advanced respiratory care
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring and interpreting telemetry
- Experience with invasive ICU procedures and emergency responses
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation workflows
- Ability to adapt to floating and changing unit assignments as needed
- Excellent communication, teamwork and bedside assessment skills
