Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to ICU/PCU patients, monitoring condition and responding to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
• Assess patients continuously and use critical thinking to prioritize care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes thoroughly and timely in the EHR
• Lead and support rapid response and emergency interventions when needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, procedures, and discharge plans with compassion

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (TX or Compact) — must be eligible to practice in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (ICU, Step-Down/PCU or similar)
• BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Current relevant certifications and active clinical competency in critical care nursing
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and IV/medication administration skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care and progressive/step-down patient management
• Telemetry monitoring, post-op and medically complex patient experience
• Familiarity with ventilator basics and ability to collaborate with respiratory therapy
• Proficient documentation skills in electronic health record systems
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities
