Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to med-surg and telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, responding quickly to changes in patient status
• Perform skilled procedures including IV insertions, wound vac changes, wound care, and Foley catheter insertion
• Administer treatments and medications safely according to facility policies and standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Prioritize patient safety and maintain infection control and unit policies at all times
• Act as a dependable team player during shift handoffs and staffing fluctuations

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN clinical experience (Med-Surg or Telemetry experience preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgement
• Comfortable performing IV insertions, wound care, wound vac changes, and Foley catheter insertions
• Able to work night shifts and every other weekend as required
• Team-oriented attitude with good prioritization and time management skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program or equivalent vocational nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation basics
• Experience with IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo pumps, PCA pumps, and chest tube care
• Familiarity with common med-surg and trauma/ortho patient needs
• Solid documentation skills in electronic medical records
• Effective communication and handoff skills
• Ability to manage a 6:1 nurse/patient ratio when required
