Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one occupational therapy treatments for patients in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation
• Perform thorough patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Document care and progress accurately and timely in Meditech
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, ST, nursing and physicians to coordinate patient care
• Use and instruct patients on therapeutic equipment such as treadmills, bikes and gait aids
• Educate patients and families to support safe discharge and ongoing recovery
• Participate in unit initiatives, follow unit guidelines and contribute to a positive team culture
• Cover scheduled weekend rotation shifts as part of the team coverage plan

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in acute care and/or inpatient rehabilitation settings
• Comfortable working day shift hours and contributing to a twice-monthly weekend rotation
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems (Meditech is used on unit)
• Strong teamwork, flexibility and a good sense of humor to fit the unit culture

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of acute care and inpatient rehabilitation therapy practices
• Skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning and progress documentation
• Experience using Meditech electronic medical records
• Proficiency with common therapy equipment (gait belts, treadmills, bikes, bars, etc.)
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Time management and the ability to manage a varied caseload
