Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment safely and efficiently to capture high-quality diagnostic images
• Position patients with care and professionalism, ensuring comfort and proper imaging alignment
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to review imaging needs and protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in accordance with hospital policy
• Follow radiation safety principles and infection control procedures at all times
• Troubleshoot imaging issues and escalate technical concerns to biomedical or lead staff
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families to explain procedures and ease concerns
• Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and sharing best practices

Qualifications

• Registered Technologist in Radiology (ARRT-CT) preferred or equivalent certification
• State licensure as required for Illinois (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Minimum clinical experience in CT imaging preferred (new grads with strong clinical training encouraged to apply)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Comfortable with PACS, RIS, and standard CT protocols
• Strong patient care skills and the ability to work independently during weekend shifts

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Imaging, or related field; Bachelor’s degree a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with CT scanners, image acquisition and reconstruction techniques
• Knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Familiarity with DICOM, PACS workflows, and image archiving
• Excellent patient positioning and communication skills
• Ability to follow protocols and adapt to urgent imaging needs
• Team-oriented mindset and clear clinical documentation habits
