Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment safely and efficiently to capture high-quality diagnostic images
- Position patients with care and professionalism, ensuring comfort and proper imaging alignment
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to review imaging needs and protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in accordance with hospital policy
- Follow radiation safety principles and infection control procedures at all times
- Troubleshoot imaging issues and escalate technical concerns to biomedical or lead staff
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families to explain procedures and ease concerns
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and sharing best practices
Qualifications
- Registered Technologist in Radiology (ARRT-CT) preferred or equivalent certification
- State licensure as required for Illinois (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Minimum clinical experience in CT imaging preferred (new grads with strong clinical training encouraged to apply)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Comfortable with PACS, RIS, and standard CT protocols
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to work independently during weekend shifts
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Imaging, or related field; Bachelor’s degree a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with CT scanners, image acquisition and reconstruction techniques
- Knowledge of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Familiarity with DICOM, PACS workflows, and image archiving
- Excellent patient positioning and communication skills
- Ability to follow protocols and adapt to urgent imaging needs
- Team-oriented mindset and clear clinical documentation habits
