Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic breast ultrasound exams with attention to detail
- Acquire and document clear, diagnostic images following department protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists and the Breast Cancer Center team to ensure excellent patient care
- Accurately chart findings and patient information in Cerner
- Provide compassionate patient education and support during imaging procedures
- Maintain equipment performance, infection control, and quality assurance standards
- Participate in required orientation and continuing competency activities
Qualifications
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer — Breast (RDMS-BR) via ARDMS (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical sonography experience (as listed)
- Familiarity with Cerner charting/documentation (preferred/required per posting)
- Willingness to complete a 12-hour orientation as part of onboarding
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in breast ultrasound imaging and breast-specific scanning protocols
- Strong image optimization and anatomy/pathology recognition
- Proficient charting and workflow in Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Excellent patient communication and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to follow department policies, QA processes, and safety protocols
