Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (night schedule; specific start/end times vary by facility), 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks, holidays scheduled into core rotation, guaranteed 36 hours per week

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Neuro Rehab patients (TBI, CVA, brain tumor, transplant cases)
- Perform and demonstrate competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes under sterile technique
- Recognize dysrhythmias and successfully complete required dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance
- Chart accurately and timely in Cerner to support continuity of care and interdisciplinary rounds
- Collaborate with therapy teams for daily interdisciplinary rounds and support 3 hours/day therapy plans
- Support patient and family communication, education, and partnership of care throughout rehabilitation
- Float to MedSurg units when needed and maintain flexibility to meet patient needs and unit census
- Participate in SIMs lab and pass required competency checks (sterile field, lifts, restraints, wound care)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit; agency willing to wait per job posting)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience with strong MedSurg background
- Level 1 trauma experience is required (no exceptions)
- BLS certification required; FIM certification preferred
- Demonstrated competency or willingness to demonstrate competency in Foley insertion and central line dressing changes
- Ability to pass dysrhythmia recognition exam (travelers have two attempts)
- Comfort with lifts, restraints, wound care, IV therapy, and communicating with patients and families
- Travel requirements: travel teams must have their own vehicle; facility grooming/fit-test requirements apply (natural hair color, no facial piercings, men clean-shaven for fit test)
Education
- Current RN license (state of practice or eligible to submit)
- BLS (required)
- FIM (preferred)
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Cerner EMR charting experience
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac rhythm assessment
- Sterile technique and infection prevention practices
- Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing change skills
- IV therapy and wound care fundamentals
- Experience caring for Neuro Rehab diagnoses: TBI, CVA, brain tumor resections, lung and liver transplant patients
- Strong patient/family communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Ability to work in a low-stimulation neuro population with attention to safety and rehabilitation goals
