Options include Weekday overnight call 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (1x/week, 8-hour), Day shift 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Evening shift 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (8-hour), and 12-hour weekend shifts 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon). Shift type: rotating (day/night/weekend).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments so every procedure starts smoothly and safely
• Assist surgeons and scrub team during cases, anticipating needs and maintaining the sterile field
• Manage surgical instrumentation and counts accurately to ensure patient safety
• Respond to trauma and emergent cases with calm, efficient support under pressure
• Document care and case details in Cerner to keep patient records complete and accurate
• Participate in call rotations and weekend coverage to support around-the-clock patient care
• Collaborate closely with nurses, surgeons and techs to continuously improve OR workflow

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience (OR experience strongly preferred)
• Comfortable working trauma, orthopedic, vascular and general surgery cases
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system preferred
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and take assigned call
• Able to complete a 12-hour orientation as part of onboarding

Education

• Certificate or diploma in Surgical Technology or completion of an accredited surgical tech program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Proficient with surgical instrumentation and OR setup
• Experience in trauma, orthopedic, vascular and general surgical procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-stakes environments
• Basic electronic charting skills (Cerner) and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly during emergent situations
