Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (Day) and 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (Night); typically 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week), every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month, holiday rotation. Schedule varies by assignment (day and night coverage required).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to adult (and NICU when assigned) patients, making a measurable impact on patient outcomes
- Assist physicians with bronchoscopies and procedural support at the bedside
- Manage and operate ventilators including Servo I, Jets, and Oscillators with confidence
- Perform and interpret ABGs and own arterial blood gas responsibilities for your patients
- Run noninvasive ventilation modalities such as BiPAP V60 and CPAP
- Lead on-duty as assigned and respond with the Clinical Response Team during rapid events
- Document thoroughly and accurately using Cerner to support continuity of care
- Maintain high throughput (approximately 35–40 procedures/RVUs per day) while prioritizing patient safety and teamwork
Qualifications
- AZ RT license in hand (this is mandatory)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC required
- Minimum 2 years of strong ICU respiratory experience required; NICU experience preferred for combined roles
- BLS required; NRP required for NICU assignments; ACLS preferred
- Proven competency with ventilator management and ability to assist with bronchoscopies
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Demonstrated time management, communication, and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holiday rotation
Education
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC required
- AZ Respiratory Therapist license required
- Associate degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy preferred (program completion consistent with RRT credentialing)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting (Servo I, Jets, Oscillators)
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpretation
- Bronchoscopy assistance and procedural support
- Noninvasive ventilation: BiPAP V60 and CPAP
- Electronic charting with Cerner
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity settings
- Excellent communication, time management, and team leadership skills
