Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging studies using GE and Siemens CT scanners to assist accurate diagnosis
- Provide X-ray imaging as needed, ensuring proper patient positioning and technique
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and the Allied Care team to deliver timely, patient-centered care
- Document studies and chart in EPIC accurately and promptly
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and facility policies to protect patients and staff
- Maintain equipment and imaging records, reporting issues to supervisors
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families to ease their experience
- Follow facility-specific policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nails policy) and credentialing requirements
Qualifications
- Certified CT Technologist — ARRT (CT) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience (as specified)
- Valid driver’s license required at submittal to verify radius eligibility
- Demonstrated competency in X-Ray imaging (this position requires X-Ray skills)
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred
- Comfortable operating GE and Siemens CT scanners
- Willingness to comply with facility-specific employment restrictions (candidates may not be currently FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities)
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent (program completion/ARRT pathway expected)
- BSN not required (this is an imaging role); ARRT (CT) certification is mandatory
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Radiation safety and dose optimization techniques
- Proficiency in patient positioning for CT and X-Ray studies
- Image quality assessment and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with EPIC and electronic charting workflows
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts and manage priorities
