Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; rotating schedule with 3 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday plus one Sunday); self-scheduling; travelers must be willing to float to Chandler Regional NICU; no on-call requirement
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal care for infants 32 weeks gestation and above, including CPAP and High Flow management
- Assess and monitor neonatal patients, recognizing changes in condition and escalating to NNP/NEO or pediatrician as needed
- Start and manage IVs independently and collaborate with the certified PICC team for specialized access
- Care for common SCN diagnoses such as feeder growers, sepsis workups, and hyperbilirubinemia
- Collaborate with NNPs, pediatricians, RTs and the charge nurse to support high-risk deliveries and unit flow
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate clearly during handoffs
- Participate in required orientation and complete the pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1
- Support unit staffing needs, including occasional float to the sister NICU, while maintaining patient safety and standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license or eligible to obtain RN licensure for Arizona (license-to-submit accepted)
- Minimum 2 years NICU experience required
- Level 2 NICU experience required; Level 3 NICU experience preferred
- Current NRP and BLS certifications required; STABLE certification required
- Comfortable with neonatal IV insertion and basic neonatal procedures
- Experience charting in Cerner preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend requirement (3 per month)
- Willingness to complete the Day 1 Sim Lab (pass/fail)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or diploma acceptable; BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal physiology and assessment for infants ≥32 weeks GA
- CPAP and High Flow respiratory support familiarity
- Neonatal feeding support and management of hyperbilirubinemia
- IV insertion skills and working alongside a neonatal PICC team
- Ability to escalate emergent issues to NNP/NEO or pediatricians on call
- Strong clinical documentation skills in Cerner
- Teamwork, clear communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced SCN environment
- Comfort with self-scheduling systems and working within a 12-hour night framework
