Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting with compassion and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition accurately and promptly
• Provide safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain clean, comfortable and dignified living spaces for residents
• Communicate changes in resident status to the nursing team and document care thoroughly
• Support social and recreational activities to promote resident engagement
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (required)
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• State GNA registration or ability to obtain Maryland GNA credential
• Comfortable working nights and supporting older adult populations
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs and basic resident care
• Vital signs monitoring and documentation
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and electronic documentation familiarity
• Infection prevention and control best practices
• Compassionate communication with residents and families
