Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Measure and record vital signs and other observations, reporting changes promptly
• Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and timely documentation
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to support care goals
• Participate in care planning and resident-centered activities to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-equivalent certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or required depending on facility
• Prior experience caring for older adults or in a long-term care setting is preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Skill in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
• Basic clinical observation and accurate documentation
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Compassionate bedside manner and cultural sensitivity
