Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor residents daily and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to promote independence
• Document care accurately and timely to ensure continuity across shifts
• Follow infection prevention and control protocols to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
• Support mealtime and hydration needs, including feeding assistance when required

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state-specific certification required or eligible
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtained shortly after hire per facility policy
• Comfort working the night shift and supporting residents overnight
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Prior long-term care or rehab experience is a plus, but caring attitude and clinical competency matter most

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited/state-approved CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living and personal care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control best practices
• Familiarity with safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Good documentation habits and basic charting skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
