Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled speech-language pathology assessment and treatment for acute-care patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans and document progress accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists to coordinate patient-centered care
- Deliver evidence-based dysphagia and communication interventions to improve outcomes
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies and discharge plans
- Participate in unit-based meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active California Speech-Language Pathology license (required)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of SLP experience, preferably in acute care
- Experience with Cerner charting/documentation
- Comfort and ability to float to Mercy Medical Center Redding as needed
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in adult dysphagia and cognitive-communication disorders
- Proficient documentation skills within Cerner or similar EMR systems
- Ability to prioritize caseloads in an acute care, fast-paced environment
- Skilled at patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
- Experience working as part of an allied health team and communicating with multidisciplinary staff
