Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in scrub, monitor and circulating roles during cardiac cath, EP and hybrid procedures
• Support STEMI and cardiogenic shock cases with timely, high-quality technical care
• Prepare and maintain cath lab equipment and supplies to ensure procedural readiness
• Collaborate with the interventional team and cardiologists to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond to call assignments within a 30-minute window and provide dependable coverage
• Document procedures and chart accurately in EPIC to maintain clinical and regulatory records
• Float within the department as needed to support workflow across suites and labs
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and continuous competency activities

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) via CCI (required)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant cath lab or cardiovascular lab experience
• Solid STEMI and cardiovascular lab experience — comfortable in high-acuity cases
• Ability to float within the department and cover EP, cath and hybrid suites
• Willingness to participate in call rotation and meet the 30-minute response time
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the 60-mile radius requirement for orientation

Education

• No BSN required; relevant cardiac technologist certification (RCIS or RCES) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Strong knowledge of cath lab procedures, scrub/monitor/circulating roles
• Experience with STEMI management, cardiogenic shock, CAD, PAD, and AF/flutter cases
• Familiarity with hybrid lab workflows and electrophysiology procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, trauma-level 1 acute care setting
• Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking under pressure
