Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to patients in the facility
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Perform patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Coordinate with colleagues and facility staff to support continuity of care
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns to appropriate clinical staff
• Maintain infection control and safety standards in a corrections healthcare setting
• Support patient education and encourage compliance with care plans

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential — ready to practice
• Comfortable working Wednesday–Sunday evenings (1:45 PM - 10:15 PM)
• Ability to complete one-week orientation prior to shift assignment
• Prior experience in acute care, corrections, or medical-surgical settings is a plus
• Willingness to complete facility-required background/security clearance

Education

• Vocational Nursing diploma or equivalent (LVN program completion)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and documentation skills
• Clinical assessment and patient monitoring
• Basic life support (BLS) / CPR knowledge preferred
• Good communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with infection control and correctional healthcare protocols
• Organization and time management to handle caseloads and charting
