Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing to monitor and stabilize patients on a PCU telemetry floor
• Interpret telemetry and EKGs accurately — candidates must pass the EKG exam with no exceptions
• Deliver lifesaving interventions and medication administration consistent with BLS and ACLS protocols
• Document patient care precisely in Epic to ensure continuity and clear communication
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Float between like units as needed to meet facility needs while maintaining scope of practice
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios (typically 1:4-5) and prioritize patient safety at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (PCU/telemetry experience preferred)
• Active professional nursing license appropriate for practice location (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH (must be current)
• Demonstrated EKG/telemetry competency — passing the facility EKG exam is required
• Comfort and experience working night shifts and covering every-other-weekend
• Willingness to float within like units when needed
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry/EKG interpretation skills
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
• Solid critical thinking and rapid clinical assessment abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced acute care
• Familiarity with progressive care protocols and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients while maintaining safety and documentation standards
