Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage progressive care (PCU) patients with clinical confidence, using telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
• Perform timely assessments, administer medications, and respond to changing patient conditions
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care while maintaining safe patient ratios (1:4–5)
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to keep the care team informed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Float within scope to support like units as needed to meet facility staffing demands
• Participate in unit-specific procedures and emergency responses to ensure positive patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure required — pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (PCU/telemetry experience preferred)
• Must pass EKG exam — no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Comfortable with night shift schedule and working 12-hour shifts
• Able to float within scope between similar units when needed
• First-time travel nurses are welcome
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (no local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the main campus)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and EKG interpretation skills
• Familiarity with Epic charting system
• Ability to manage progressive care patient populations and maintain 1:4–5 ratios
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to night-shift workflows and floating between like units
