Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team
• Document care and observations in the patient chart promptly and accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Contribute to a positive team culture and help create meaningful days for residents

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Valid state CNA credential for New Mexico or ability to obtain one
• Comfortable assisting with patient transfers and ADLs; basic lifting ability
• Background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Friendly, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care
• Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nurses
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for residents and families
• Basic charting and documentation skills; comfort learning electronic systems
