Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team
- Document care and observations in the patient chart promptly and accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Contribute to a positive team culture and help create meaningful days for residents
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid state CNA credential for New Mexico or ability to obtain one
- Comfortable assisting with patient transfers and ADLs; basic lifting ability
- Background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Friendly, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care
- Skill in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nurses
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for residents and families
- Basic charting and documentation skills; comfort learning electronic systems
