Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (primary day shift; start times may vary between 6:00 AM and 9:30 AM). 8-hour shifts with optional 10-hour shifts during holiday weeks. Includes 1 evening shift and 1 Saturday per month; occasional on-call/evening coverage required. (Day with occasional evening and Saturday coverage)

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality PET/CT imaging (whole-body FDG, brain PET, limited cardiac PET, neuroendocrine imaging) with attention to detail and patient comfort
- Start and maintain IVs reliably and safely for radiopharmaceutical administration
- Operate and troubleshoot PET/CT scanners (Siemens) and manage imaging workflow across two scanners
- Use PACS to archive, retrieve, and ensure studies are complete for reading and follow-up
- Collaborate with oncology, ICU, and inpatient/outpatient teams to coordinate patient care and imaging priorities
- Follow safety, infection control, and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Document procedures and patient encounters accurately and timely during charting and handoffs
- Participate in orientation and precepting to support new staff and travelers
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) or NMTCB certification required (or equivalent as stated by facility)
- State Nuclear Medicine Technologist license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in PET/CT and general nuclear medicine
- Proven IV start skills and comfort with inpatient and outpatient workflows
- Familiarity with PACS and Siemens PET/CT equipment preferred
- Ability to work variable start times, occasional evening and Saturday coverage, and on-call when scheduled
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Education
- Certification via ARRT (R) or NMTCB and State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure required
- Formal radiologic technology education or equivalent training preferred (not explicitly required in posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- PET/CT protocols: FDG whole-body, brain PET, neuroendocrine and tumor localization
- Cardiac PET basics and pharmacological stress agents (Adenosine, Persantine) and exercise/rest protocols
- PACS operation and image management
- IV insertion and maintenance for nuclear medicine procedures
- EKG monitoring and ICU patient handling experience helpful
- Working knowledge of Siemens PET/CT equipment
- Strong patient communication, safety-focused mindset, and teamwork skills
