Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency department
• Stabilize and manage trauma and critical patients using evidence-based emergency nursing practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting care in the patient record
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Perform focused physical assessments and interpret diagnostic data to drive timely interventions
• Provide clear patient and family education with compassion and professionalism
• Maintain competency through required specialty testing and skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Connecticut (license verification required)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS or ENPC required
• TNCC preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Current fit testing and required immunizations/health screenings per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency department nursing and trauma care knowledge
• Skilled in rapid assessment, prioritization and critical thinking
• Familiarity with emergency protocols, triage systems and trauma team activation
• Experience with medication administration and basic procedures in the ED
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, high-turnover environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
