Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage telemetry patients with careful ECG strip interpretation and timely interventions
• Administer and titrate respiratory support as appropriate (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen) within unit protocols
• Collaborate with telemetry monitor techs and the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety
• Provide compassionate care for patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD and other med/surg telemetry diagnoses
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility’s charting system and participate in unit orientation
• Float to med/surg units when needed to support staffing and continuity of patient care
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and discharge needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg experience preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable reading ECG strips and working with telemetry monitoring
• Experience with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Ability to float to med/surg units and work in a 6:1 patient ratio when required
• Strong communication and time-management skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted (BSN not required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and ECG interpretation
• Med/Surg nursing principles and acute care assessment
• Respiratory support modalities: CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen
• Ability to work with telemetry monitor techs and interpret alarm data
• Charting in electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Team collaboration, patient/family education, and prioritization in fast-paced settings
