Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating schedule that includes every-other-weekend (EOW), 4 weekend shifts per rotation, and coverage for major and minor holidays (Nights)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $91 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality labor and delivery care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using advanced fetal monitoring and intervene per protocols
- Assist and circulate for C-sections and support recovery and postpartum care, including neonatal recovery
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and collaborate with NICU charge nurse and RT on high-risk deliveries
- Start and manage IVs independently and coordinate with pharmacy and IV teams
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and GNOSIS online training; follow evidence-based checklists and chart audits
- Support breastfeeding initiation and lactation needs immediately after birth following Baby-Friendly practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including obstetrics, anesthesia, RT and perinatology safety specialists
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (L&D experience preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Ability to start IVs and perform fetal monitoring confidently
- Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and meeting weekend/holiday requirements
- Experience with Cerner charting and fetal monitoring systems preferred
- Strong commitment to perinatal safety, evidence-based practice and patient-centered care
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred but not required
- Current RN license in California
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor and Delivery nursing and couplet care
- Postpartum and antepartum care
- Fetal monitoring and AWHONN advanced fetal monitoring techniques
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and newborn recovery care
- IV insertion and basic procedures for L&D
- C-section assistance and OR circulation knowledge
- Familiarity with Cerner, Fetal Links and infant security systems like HUGS
- Perinatal safety initiatives, Pitocin checklists, and maternal mental health screening practices
