Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote independence
• Support feeding, personal hygiene, and toileting needs with dignity and respect
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with nurses and families
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — active or eligible in North Carolina
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliability and a caring attitude
• Prior experience as a CNA is a plus but new graduates from approved programs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
• Knowledge of infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Familiarity with patient safety, safe transfers, and mobility assistance
• Good charting habits and ability to follow care plans
• Compassionate communication with residents and families
