Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the care team
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling to promote independence
- Support feeding, personal hygiene, and toileting needs with dignity and respect
- Document care accurately and communicate effectively with nurses and families
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to ensure consistent, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — active or eligible in North Carolina
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; reliability and a caring attitude
- Prior experience as a CNA is a plus but new graduates from approved programs are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
- Knowledge of infection control and hand hygiene practices
- Familiarity with patient safety, safe transfers, and mobility assistance
- Good charting habits and ability to follow care plans
- Compassionate communication with residents and families
