Shift Type: Rotating schedule with primary day shift 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Day); schedule includes shift rotation and on-call coverage, may include weekends

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and verify accurate laboratory testing across patient populations from neonates to geriatrics
- Handle and process specimens with care and according to protocol
- Participate in quality control and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities to keep standards high
- Respond to on-call duties and return to the facility within required timeframes
- Document results, maintain clear records, and communicate findings professionally
- Assist with training new hires and support team workflow when needed
- Use basic computer and clerical skills to manage lab data and communications
Qualifications
- Current Medical Technologist registration or ASCP-eligible (ASCP or equivalent required)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) HeartCode BLS required; new employees must certify within three months of hire
- Ability to work with neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients
- Willingness to meet on-call requirements and respond within facility timeframes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with tact
- Prior laboratory experience preferred; new hires may be trained into the role
Education
- MT certification or eligible (ASCP or equivalent)
- BLS (AHA) HeartCode required (or ability to certify within 3 months)
Knowledge & Skills
- Laboratory testing and specimen handling best practices
- Quality control and performance improvement processes
- Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) participation
- Basic computer literacy and clerical task competence
- Professional communication and teamwork
- Ability to follow protocols and maintain accurate documentation
