Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on Med/Surgical and Telemetry units
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed — adapt and contribute across the organization
• Perform and manage IV starts, line care (PICC/central/peripheral) and blood product administration
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely clinical interventions
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory, PT, Pharmacy, Rapid Response) to coordinate care
• Maintain safe patient ratios (typically 1:4–1:5) while prioritizing patient needs and safety
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code teams when required and support emergency response protocols

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surgical nursing experience
• Current BCLS/BLS certification required
• Proficiency with IV start/management and telemetry monitoring
• Experience using EPIC electronic health record system
• Travel nursing experience required
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 and float across units
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, CPI, NIHSS (not required but a plus)

Knowledge & Skills

• MedSurgical nursing fundamentals and Telemetry monitoring
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC and central line care/management
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), non-invasive airway support, and tracheostomy care
• Interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias; familiarity with heparin and insulin protocols
• Wound care including Wound Vac management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code team processes
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization and documentation skills in EPIC
