Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers and safe ambulation while using proper body mechanics
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to the nursing team
• Document resident care accurately and promptly in facility records
• Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver resident-centered care
• Engage residents with dignity — offer emotional support, companionship, and help with daily routines
• Respond quickly and professionally to resident needs and call lights

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential valid in Pennsylvania
• Completion of an approved CNA training program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain quickly
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus, but caring heart and reliability matter most

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with ADLs, transfers and taking vital signs
• Familiarity with infection prevention and standard precautions
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes clearly
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with residents
• Basic familiarity with electronic medical records or willingness to learn
