Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to promote resident comfort and dignity
• Assist nursing staff with safe transfers, mobility and positioning to prevent injury
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Support care plans by following directions from RNs and reporting observations that impact care
• Maintain a clean, safe and respectful environment while following infection control protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and the care team to ensure coordinated, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state certification required
• Demonstrated patient care skills and comfort assisting with ADLs
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations) per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Basic documentation and charting experience; reliable and punctual

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care procedures and infection control
• Skill taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Ability to assist with transfers, ambulation and safe patient handling
• Familiarity with charting/documentation and following care plans
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting

This is a travel assignment in historic Gettysburg. When you’re off shift, explore Gettysburg National Military Park and the Gettysburg National Cemetery to soak up American history, stroll charming downtown with its cafes, boutiques and museums, or catch a reenactment or living-history event if timing aligns. Enjoy scenic drives and wineries in Adams County, visit the Eisenhower National Historic Site, and take short weekend trips to nearby Hershey or Chambersburg for more dining and entertainment options.
