Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Provide attentive bedside care, monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to the nursing team
• Support safe and timely transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and promptly in the resident record to ensure continuity
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary staff to support resident-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Help create a warm, respectful atmosphere that promotes comfort and independence for each resident

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (active) — required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Valid state authorization to work in Pennsylvania (CNA listed on state registry)
• Willingness to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work night shift hours
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• CNA certification and listing on the Pennsylvania CNA registry

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and safe transfer techniques
• Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
• Strong communication and teamwork with nursing staff and families
• Infection control practices and facility safety standards
• Comfortable with bedside documentation and electronic charting basics
• Time management and prioritization during fast-paced shifts
