Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, delivering care with dignity and respect
• Measure and accurately record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care and observations in the medical record clearly and promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and communication to residents and families
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Pennsylvania or state-equivalent) required
• Completion of an accredited CNA program
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Comfort working in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment; previous experience preferred but new grads welcome
• Reliable, professional attitude and strong teamwork and communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident hygiene
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with safe transfer and fall-prevention techniques
• Basic infection prevention and control practices
• Comfortable with electronic documentation or willingness to learn
• Strong observation and reporting skills to escalate clinical changes
• Compassionate bedside manner and the ability to prioritize care
