Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfer techniques to reduce fall risk
• Help create a calm, respectful environment that promotes resident well-being
• Document care and resident interactions accurately and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care residents preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete required health screenings
• Clear background check and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered approaches
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Basic clinical observation and ability to report changes
• Good documentation practices and time management
• Comfort working in fast-paced long-term care or rehab environments
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
