Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Support dining and feeding needs, including meal setup and assistance during service
• Maintain accurate, respectful documentation of care and resident interactions
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families, contributing to a warm community environment
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or state equivalent required
• Current basic life support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers; ability to stand and move for shift duration
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-centered approach
• Previous long-term care or geriatric care experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification or state-recognized nursing aide credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Basic knowledge of vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Familiarity with infection control, hygiene, and resident safety practices
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans
