Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function for geriatric patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with clear, measurable goals
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Document clinical findings and progress notes thoroughly and timely
- Communicate treatment plans and progress with families and caregivers in a compassionate way
- Provide training and education to facility staff to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Active SLP license in Georgia or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Ability to pass standard background checks and required health screenings
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with a geriatric population
- Current BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia and other geriatric communication disorders
- Solid documentation and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to create measurable, functional treatment goals
- Strong verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
- Familiarity with ASHA guidelines and state practice standards
