Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition changes accurately
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate observations to the nursing team
- Ensure resident dignity and comfort while following care plans and safety protocols
- Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Pennsylvania) required
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
- Current basic immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Background check and drug screen clearance as required by the facility
- Prior CNA experience preferred but new graduates who meet requirements are welcome
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, basic patient care and safety practices
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
- Good documentation practices and basic charting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers and personal care tasks
