Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients comprehensively and contribute to accurate perioperative diagnoses
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care to promote optimal surgical outcomes
• Provide patient and family education to ensure understanding and safe recovery
• Deliver hands-on perioperative care as a circulating or scrub nurse depending on assignment
• Document clinical findings, care plans and progress clearly and timely
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, efficient OR flow
• Demonstrate leadership in the OR by mentoring peers and advocating for best practices
• Participate in stroke-related protocols and competencies when caring for cerebrovascular patients

Qualifications

• Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Bachelor’s, Associate degree, or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program
• American Heart Association BLS required
• American Heart Association ACLS required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum ~18 months of Registered Nurse experience
• CNOR certification preferred
• Preferred: 1 year circulating experience and 1 year scrub experience
• Ability to work varied day shifts and participate in on-call rotation

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; Associate degree or Nursing Diploma accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, clinical judgment and accurate diagnosis skills
• Perioperative skills: circulating and/or scrub experience in the OR
• Plan of care development and implementation
• Strong documentation and charting practices
• Teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
• Leadership abilities and mentorship of peers
• Stroke competency and cerebrovascular education participation
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy surgical environment
