Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate communication and swallowing disorders using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that help patients achieve meaningful goals
• Provide skilled therapy and progress-monitoring to maximize functional outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility EMR and communicate progress to families
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and long-term success
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to support seamless transitions

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts SLP license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or equivalent clinical experience
• Experience in outpatient/rehab settings or similar clinical background preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Ability to pass required background checks, health screening and immunization requirements
• Strong communication, time-management, and documentation skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent graduate qualification)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment planning for speech, language, cognition and swallowing
• Knowledge of dysphagia management and safe swallowing strategies
• Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches
• Comfortable working in interdisciplinary teams and engaging with families
• Proficient clinical documentation and outcome tracking in electronic medical records
• Evidence-based practice mindset and commitment to ongoing learning
