Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using the nursing process to gather biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental data
• Develop individualized care plans and prescribe nursing interventions based on assessment findings
• Implement and document nursing interventions, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care as needed
• Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans to ensure quality and safety
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient education to promote smooth transitions and self-care
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to tailor care appropriately

Qualifications

• Current, active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (LARA/Nursys verification required)
• BLS (AHA) certification active at time of submission
• Minimum 1+ year of Med/Surg experience (required)
• ICU experience preferred
• Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties
• Ability to provide a brief write-up if there is a license verification hit for manager review

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid command of the nursing process: assessment, planning, interventions, evaluation
• Patient assessment across age groups and conditions
• Care planning, nursing interventions, and discharge planning
• Patient and family education with clear communication skills
• Growth and development principles across the lifespan
• Med/Surg clinical experience; ICU exposure is a plus
• Basic Life Support (AHA) competency
