Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients using the nursing process to gather biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental data
- Develop individualized care plans and prescribe nursing interventions based on assessment findings
- Implement and document nursing interventions, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care as needed
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans to ensure quality and safety
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient education to promote smooth transitions and self-care
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to tailor care appropriately
Qualifications
- Current, active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (LARA/Nursys verification required)
- BLS (AHA) certification active at time of submission
- Minimum 1+ year of Med/Surg experience (required)
- ICU experience preferred
- Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties
- Ability to provide a brief write-up if there is a license verification hit for manager review
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid command of the nursing process: assessment, planning, interventions, evaluation
- Patient assessment across age groups and conditions
- Care planning, nursing interventions, and discharge planning
- Patient and family education with clear communication skills
- Growth and development principles across the lifespan
- Med/Surg clinical experience; ICU exposure is a plus
- Basic Life Support (AHA) competency
