Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, ensuring dignity and respect in every interaction
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support
• Monitor resident condition and communicate changes promptly to nursing leadership
• Support safe transfers and fall prevention efforts using proper body mechanics
• Document care accurately and maintain confidentiality of resident information
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a warm, person-centered environment

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification in the state of Maryland (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks and required screenings
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting complex personal care needs
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe resident handling, transfers, and fall prevention
• Ability to observe, report, and document changes in condition clearly
• Person-centered approach and strong interpersonal skills
• Basic infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
