Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services based on the physician-authorized plan of care
• Deliver direct resident care including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers and responding to alarms
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with the care team to update or revise plans for better outcomes
• Process physician/provider orders and carry out physician-ordered care accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders to ensure patient safety
• Delegate tasks appropriately to patient care technicians while maintaining oversight and quality
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (must be verifiable via LARA and/or Nursys)
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification (required)
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
• Current skills checklist relevant to Med-Surg (within 1 year) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and care planning with strong clinical judgment
• Medication administration and adherence to safety protocols
• Postoperative care for surgical and orthopedic patients
• Delegation and supervision of patient care technicians
• Experience with Epic EMR for documentation and order processing
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with providers
