Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and emotional support to residents and families
- Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable patient environments following infection control practices
- Document care interventions clearly and timely in the patient record
- Collaborate with RNs, LPNs, and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
- Observe patients closely and promptly communicate clinical concerns to nursing staff
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active or eligible for Pennsylvania CNA certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including patient transfers and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and infection prevention practices
- Skilled in taking and recording vital signs and observing patient condition
- Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and documentation standards
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
