Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans
- Deliver skilled OT interventions to improve activities of daily living and independence
- Collaborate with nurses, physical therapists, physicians, and caregivers to coordinate care
- Document assessments, plans, progress, and discharge summaries clearly and timely
- Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safety
- Recommend adaptive equipment, splints, and orthoses when clinically indicated
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Occupational Therapy license or ability to obtain state licensure prior to start
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (Master’s or entry-level doctorate preferred)
- NBCOT certification preferred or active
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred
- Previous clinical experience in rehab, outpatient, or acute care settings preferred
- Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
Education
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or entry-level OTD preferred
- Graduation from an accredited OT program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention
- Proficient in therapeutic techniques including splinting and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Solid clinical reasoning and goal-setting tailored to patient function
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Time management and caseload prioritization
- Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and outcome measurement
