Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mobility, strength, and functional needs and create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training and modality interventions to restore function
• Set measurable goals with patients and families, and track progress toward meaningful outcomes
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and safe discharges
• Document concise, accurate treatment notes in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention and adaptive equipment

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist license or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Bachelor's in physical therapy or related field considered
• BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Experience in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing or outpatient settings preferred
• Comfort working a day schedule that may include coverage across all days of the week
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude for working with interdisciplinary care teams

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; or Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and gait training
• Skilled in patient assessment, care planning and outcome measurement
• Proficient with therapy documentation and common EMR systems
• Ability to coach patients and families with clear, compassionate instruction
• Good clinical judgement for safe mobility and discharge planning
