Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy services as prescribed by provider orders
• Operate and manage ventilators and airway equipment safely and effectively
• Perform patient assessments, document findings, and adjust therapy per protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, treatments, and home strategies
• Maintain accurate records in Epic and ensure medication/device checks via Pyxis
• Follow infection control and safety protocols when exposed to communicable diseases or body fluids

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — CRT candidates will not be considered (MUST HAVE RRT)
• Active Ohio RCP license required prior to start
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Comfortable using Epic and Pyxis clinical systems
• Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in written form
• Able to meet physical demands: sit/stand intermittently, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong respiratory therapy knowledge including ventilator management and airway care
• Skilled in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and respiratory assessment
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records and Pyxis medication/asset management
• Excellent patient communication, education, and teamwork skills
• Understanding of infection control practices and safe handling of body fluids and chemicals
