Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor adult and geriatric patients on Med-Surg Oncology telemetry using GE B450 monitors and Alaris pumps
- Provide expert cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias to support timely interventions
- Administer and manage IV therapy, start IVs, handle PICC/central line care and access ports safely
- Prepare for and assist with blood product administration and arterial line management
- Support oncologic care including symptom management related to chemotherapy and disease progression
- Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) patients
- Interpret ABGs and collaborate with respiratory services on CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care
- Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC, ensuring safe transitions and clear communication
- Practice and champion infection prevention and fall prevention protocols at bedside
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response and social services
Qualifications
- Active RN license in accordance with state requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS (BCLS) certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring/telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Demonstrated IV start/IV therapy skills, central line/PICC and port care experience
- Experience with blood product administration and arterial line management
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn and grow in oncology care
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity and work a 1:4 patient ratio
- Previous travel experience preferred

- Epic electronic charting proficiency
- IV therapy, IV starts, PICC and central line management
- Port access and blood product administration
- Arterial line care and ABG interpretation
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and respiratory support knowledge
- Infection prevention and fall prevention best practices
- Chemotherapy administration fundamentals (preferred)
- Tracheostomy care and CPAP/BiPAP familiarity
