Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Day (3x/week): 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night (3x/week): 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Self-schedule requests accepted before finalizing; weekends variable based on unit needs. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days, Week 2: 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to adults and geriatrics with newly diagnosed acute leukemia and hematology needs
- Monitor cardiac telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
- Administer and manage blood products, IV antibiotics, electrolytes, and supportive therapies safely
- Perform central line and PICC care including central line blood draws and peripheral line management
- Manage feeding tubes and support nutrition plans while preventing complications
- Lead infection prevention and patient falls prevention efforts on the unit
- Respond appropriately as part of Rapid Response Teams and support emergency response protocols
- Document care accurately and efficiently using EPIC and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Work, etc.)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (current) — eligible to practice where required
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (travel experience required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Oncology/hematology experience preferred but not required — training to the population will be provided
- Proven experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Comfortable with central line, PICC, and IV therapy skills including blood product administration
- Experience with EPIC or computerized charting systems
- Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Management of dysrhythmias and emergency cardiac response
- IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, and peripheral line care
- Central line and PICC care including central line blood draws
- Blood product administration and transfusion safety
- Feeding tube care and related management
- Strong infection prevention practices and falls prevention strategies
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Comfort working in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
