Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). Specific days are self-scheduled and variable based on unit needs; weekend coverage is variable. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days; Week 2 = 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care for adults and geriatrics on a busy surgical oncology PCU unit
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips safely and per protocol
- Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor cardiac telemetry for early recognition of dysrhythmias and changes in status
- Respond to oncologic emergencies (including cytokine release syndrome) and activate rapid response teams when needed
- Adhere to and champion infection prevention protocols and fall-prevention strategies to keep patients safe
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to support continuity and interdisciplinary communication
- Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy, social services and other disciplines to deliver coordinated care
- Provide chest tube, tracheostomy, CPAP/BiPAP, and other respiratory support care as required by the unit
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience (PCU work experience required; oncology experience preferred)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- ONS Chemo certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems (EPIC required)
- Comfort and experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to self-scheduled rotation and variable weekends
- Willingness to learn, grow clinical practice, and precept/orient as needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Progressive care/PCU nursing principles and MS/Tele familiarity
- Chemotherapy administration and oncologic emergency recognition
- Blood transfusions, IV antibiotic administration, and management of insulin/heparin drips
- Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Chest tube care, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP management
- Infection prevention best practices and fall risk mitigation
- Use of Alaris pumps, B450 monitors and GE telemetry, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication skills
