Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images with attention to safety
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and ensuring comfort
- Apply appropriate scanning protocols and adjust parameters to optimize image quality
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to ensure timely, accurate imaging results
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and adhere to privacy standards
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues to biomedical engineering or leadership
- Promote a positive patient experience through clear communication and compassionate care
Qualifications
- Certified MRI Technologist or equivalent credential as required by employer
- Completion of an accredited MRI program or radiologic technology training
- Previous hands-on MRI experience — this role is seeking an experienced technologist
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass employer background checks, drug screens, and meet credentialing timelines
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited MRI program
- ARRT(MR) certification or equivalent credentials per facility requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of MRI safety and screening procedures
- Familiarity with MRI scanning protocols, patient positioning, and artifact reduction
- Comfortable working with PACS and electronic medical records for image handling and reporting
- Ability to manage a steady patient flow while maintaining high imaging standards
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients of all ages and the interdisciplinary team
