Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images with attention to safety
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures, screening for contraindications, and ensuring comfort
• Apply appropriate scanning protocols and adjust parameters to optimize image quality
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to ensure timely, accurate imaging results
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and adhere to privacy standards
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues to biomedical engineering or leadership
• Promote a positive patient experience through clear communication and compassionate care

Qualifications

• Certified MRI Technologist or equivalent credential as required by employer
• Completion of an accredited MRI program or radiologic technology training
• Previous hands-on MRI experience — this role is seeking an experienced technologist
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass employer background checks, drug screens, and meet credentialing timelines
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited MRI program
• ARRT(MR) certification or equivalent credentials per facility requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of MRI safety and screening procedures
• Familiarity with MRI scanning protocols, patient positioning, and artifact reduction
• Comfortable working with PACS and electronic medical records for image handling and reporting
• Ability to manage a steady patient flow while maintaining high imaging standards
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients of all ages and the interdisciplinary team
