Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in the assigned unit
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop timely care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge plans
- Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and promote best practices
Qualifications
- Current, active RN or LPN license (New Mexico) — compact license accepted where applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications welcomed
- Previous acute care or relevant clinical experience preferred
- Ability to pass required health screenings and background checks
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN for RNs; diploma or certificate for LPNs)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV care
- Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
- Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety principles
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient focus
- Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
